Speeches
The America’s cup is the most prestigious trophy in sailing. It was first contested in 1851 between the Royal Yacht Squadron, and the New York Yacht, as a race round the Isle of Wight. For the 35th edition of the Cup in 2017, foiling catamarans powered by rigid wing sails will be used.
The presentation gives a bit of background about the Americas cup and Land Rover BAR, focusing on the design process. It includes examples of our current analytical and optimization methods, and then finish by talking about some of the data analysis challenges.
