Carlos obtained his PhD in Computer Science in Optimization at the University of Paris Sud (France). He has been co-Director of international workshops at the International Center for Theoretical Physics ICTP (Italy) since 1993 till 2012 and Professor at the Universidad Nacional de San Luis (Argentina) from 1994 till 2005. He has also participated in research activities at the LHC-CMS CERN experiment from 2005 to 2007. He joined ESTECO in 2008, where he is currently appointed as the Head of Research and Development.

Achieving innovation through research and development is and has always been an essential objective for ESTECO, as well demonstrated by its long-term strong commitment with applied research and development activities. This important investment, represents the best way to successfully enhance and keep up-to-date our current products, and also consolidates the path to create new products and services as required by the community of users. This presentation introduces the purpose and main priorities of current research, both in terms of internal and external projects, illustrating the main challenges and its expected impact. In particular, research activities on BPMN will be in-depth presented.
